Vision-X is the annual meeting point for the MENA region’s Optical industry

Vision-X is the only eyewear and eyecare business event for the Middle East and Africa region and brings buyers and sellers together each year to source new products and brands, and catch up with the latest trends, customers, contacts and industry information.

Perfect for the spring/summer 2018 retail buying timeline, Vision-X, the MENA’s region’s only optical industry event, will take place from 17 – 19 October at Dubai World Trade Centre. Offering regional buyers a comprehensive range of fashion frames, sunglasses and opticare products the show brings together manufacturers, distributors, retailers and optical equipment specialists.

Vision-X 2017 marks 18 years in the business with great new brands, new features, and a high level Opticare conference which includes accredited CME hours for the leading practitioners in the field of eye care and eye health. 

The exhibition is presented in two distinct zones - Optistyle, which offers everything for the retail optician and optometrist, and Opticare, which covers the spectrum of technical eyecare products and services.

The MENA region to be key for the optics sector - GfK

Retail Intelligence Experts GfK, predict the MENA region will be a source of growth for international brands compared to sluggish growth in Europe. In the GCC in particular, GfK estimates the optics market in this region to be worth €1.6 billion.

With every optician serving over 10,200 customers compared to 7,000 in Germany, 6,100 in Italy and a staggering 5,500 in France, there is still a sizeable opportunity for openings here in the MENA region. Plus, with more than 450 outlets opening since 2012 in the UAE and KSA alone, a whopping 60% increase in mall-based retail space expected in Saudi Arabia over the next 5 years and a Middle East optical market predicted to be worth €2.4 billion, MENA is anything but saturated.
